1964 GIBSON SG Guitar Once Owned By JAKE E. LEE Being Auctioned
August 20, 2008A 1964 Gibson SG Junior guitar once owned by Jake E. Lee (OZZY OSBOURNE, BADLANDS) is being auctioned via eBay. According to a posting on the auction page, "This is the guitar [Jake] called 'my favorite guitar' for quite some time. This is no ordinary vintage Gibson guitar, this is a mojofied tone beast. Jake has loved and owned this guitar for a number of years. This is your chance to own a guitar loved and played by a true guitar hero. This 64 SG rings like a bell and has an amazing loud unamplified tone like so many vintage SG's. The P90 is non-original, it is a Loller, which is a high end P90 replacement and sounds phenomenal. This is the pickup Jake chose for the guitar. The paint is original. There was at some point a professional heel repair, he bought the guitar in this condition. It obviously does not affect the tone or playability or overall condition of the guitar in any way. Flawless repair. The neck has meat to it and feels great. This guitar plays and sounds the way it's supposed to. This is some really desirable tone wood, the SG Jr. is about the best deal you're going to get on a vintage Gibson guitar. The guitar is very lightweight and currently setup the way Jake had it with his strings."
The aucion ends later today. The current bid stands at $1,600.
